Question: Light saber duelling tutorials?

This is probably super specific, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a good video series on how to duel with a light saber? My BF bought me one for my birthday that's suitable for actual duelling and I've been looking up sword fighting videos, but I'm not sure where to start. Any hints appreciated!

That sounds so fun!! Unfortunately I don't know of any video resources, as lightsaber dueling isn't something I've ever done. The book The Jedi Path: A Manual for Students of the Force contains discussions of the first six lightsaber forms, though it's not from an our-world practical standpoint - if that sounds useful, PM me and I can send you pictures. (I spent a lot of time trying to copy the diagrammed moves from that book when I was about twelve!)

I did a quick Google search to see what turned up, and I am delighted to see that (as you probably know) in 2019 the official French fencing federation recognized lightsaber dueling as a competitive sport alongside foil, épée, and (non-light-) saber fencing.

YouTube suggested this video: TOP 3 LIGHTSABER SPINS | Michelle C. Smith (EASY!). It looks like she may have other instructional videos on lightsaber dueling as well.

I don't know of any videos, but The Saber Legion is a saber-fighting club. The list of locations is found halfway down the page under the Membership tab; they're in most states in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, and Mexico. Mind, I have no idea how they're dealing with Covid, but the organization exists.

Thank you, that book sounds helpful! I'll PM you. The video looks very promising, too.

While I've loved Star Wars since childhood, I'm quite new to the fandom, so thanks for bringing that cool bit of news to my attention. I guess the level of popularity is forcing this kind of nerdery into the mainstream. :-P

I'll certainly make a post about what I find once I collect some good resources! :-)
